School Site Changed to Doyon

The School Committee acknowledged the lack of support for the Winthrop and Bialek sites as locations for the proposed elementary school. Big sigh of relief! The next hurdle is for the town to agree to another $250K for additional reports required by the MSBA. Good news is that everything else the design team has completed can be applied to the Doyon site. I know throwing more money at this process isn't high on your list. Falling out of the MSBA process and starting over from scratch, though, is way more expensive. I would bet that we can find cost savings in the budget to cover this amount and then some. It just seems that even with utilities upgrades, it would be less expensive to build on the Doyon lot. Thanks for hanging in there and I hope you'll support a new town elementary school... at DOYON!
