After Surendran, Ganapathy, and Sivabalan: The three custodial deaths which happened within the span of a month in May this year, SUARAM have documented another nine death in police custody up until November.

Amongst the names are:

Umar Faruq Abdullah died in South Klang Police Headquarters on 3 June.

Vinaiyagar K Thinpathy died in Kuala Langat Police Headquarters on 13 September.

The most recent is Muhammad Hidayat bin Abdul Halim who died in Pekan Police Headquarters on 11  October.

At the same time keep sharing this petition to urge the Malaysian government to establish the long overdue IPCMC to prevent more precious life from dying under the custody of PDRM.

We would also urge the government to formulate the Coroner Court Bill to allow for a structured and detailed system in place that puts strict standards for coroners to ensure investigations are truly independent and impartial
