Wednesday is supposed to reach record breaking temperatures at -24 degrees and a windchill of -50. Frostbite can occur in under 5 minutes, which is not even enough time to walk across campus. Instead of Iowa State University putting the safety of students first, they are just putting out a picture of how to dress warmly. Other schools are already cancelled through Thursday. It is not safe for students to be attempting to go to class and therefore it should be mandatory for classes to be cancelled.
