Now is the time to srike at the heart of this cruelty to millions of highly intelligent animals. The Iowa Legislature has it in their power to stop this abuse in the nations largest pork producing state. Over 20 million animals are adused every year, year after year, by the corporate pork industry in Iowa. 99.9% of pigs in Iowa are Corporate Owned - not owned by family farmers. These wealthy corporations like Cargill and Hormell can easily afford to switch to more humane treatment of the animals in their care. But they won't unless we demand it. Keeping prices low in order to undercut the Chinese pork industry is not justification for animal abuse.
