Information from the Iowa Department of Public Health

Good afternoon  y’all! I reached out to the Iowa Department of Public Health for information on what policies they have in place to provide better access to care, medications, supplies, etc. and I actually got a response!! 

Most of their information was about self-management training and programs. However, I did get some information about Insulin policies! Here is what I got:

“There are many resources available for prescription and insulin assistance. There was activity in the last session of the Iowa Legislature around insulin but it does not appear to have become law. You can do a search and see what was proposed. Perhaps it will be revisited when the Legislature returns in January. There has also been discussion at the federal level about insulin cost and pharmaceutical companies.”

Keep on sharing and telling your friends and family! Let’s get as many signatures as we can before this visits legislation again so we have a fighting chance at getting this passed!!
