Please change the blue and clear light laws by changing the law stating that the lights run by volunteers are only courtesy lights. Change the law so that any volunteer with a valid light permit is an authorized emergency vehicle while responding to valid calls. This will help decrease firefighter and ems volunteer injuries and casualties while responding.  This will also help decrease response times by requiring civilian motorists to move out of the way for volunteers. Unlike the law now that states they are only a courtesy light; which does not require civilian motorists to yield right of way. It would also be of benefit to allow volunteers to run sirens for those that are not paying attention by not only giving a visual warning but also an audible warning allowing for even fewer collisions and casualties also in turn reducing response times.
