As we crossed 2000 supporters I send an mail informing the festivals about the petition and the status.

Here is the mail: 

Dear Sir / Madam,

I am Subhajit Singha, a film editor by profession. I have a request for you. 
Your festival is one of the best festivals of the word. Filmmakers around the world send their best work to you. Your jury members are selected internationally from the masters of craft. They preview the films and brings to the audience best of the best from the thousands of the films submitted each year. They also honour the direction, acting, screenplay, story, cinematography. World of Cinema discovers best of the best talents through you.

Director chose the story he want to tell us. Actors acts like the characters of the story. But the way the the final film is told is not the same as the screenplay written before the shooting. Most of the times the doer of the dialogues in the final film is not same as the actors told in during shooting. The reactions of an actor is differ for a particular line or moment in the final film with the shooting rushes.
As you all know the mood of story depends mainly on the speed in which the story is told in motion pictures. Holding or trimming the pauses of an actor is make his acting sign for a particular film . Same is true with reactions, the pace of a reaction connected with the thought of the character. Timing is another factor that makes an action or reaction effective. These are the basics how a story is told in motion pictures. There are so many things that only can be makes after the shooting finished.
And everything I am mentioning here is depends on the   
Sensibility of an particular crew member. He is known as Editor. Everything you try to judge from an final film is actually an Editor's thought full diction. I can bet you with the fact that you must find every second of a final film has huge difference with the shooting or preshooting material like script, screenplay, raw rush of an acting, frames capture during shooting, everything. In most of the cases the pace created during the editing is the tempo of the background score of a film. Editing is a very practical job. Many thing may be not work theoretical but works well during editing and we all have the such experience.
So tell me, how can you judge a film without the contribution of an Editor?
But you don't consider an Editor's role when you award a film.
Editing is a unique form of motion picture storytelling and without it judging a film is actually miss judgement. 

That is why I have asked filmmakers to sign a petition to ask festivals like you to add editing category.
Today is the the 7th day of the petition I have started, and the petition is already gain support from over 2,000 eminent filmmakers. I am sending you the copy of the signed petition for your consideration. I will update you with the supporter's data regularly.
I am asking you from the behalf of filmmakers around the world to consider the petition and add editing award category for fiction and nonfiction storytelling in your upcoming festival.
If you look on the signatures of the petition, you definitely find eminent filmmakers of you country as well as around the world.
