I want to start by thanking the 176 people who have stood with me. We are just 24 signatures away from our 200-person goal. But as we grow, we have to address why our fight feels so quiet—and why we need to change who is in charge of our lives.
The Fact: Why you only hear about New York
Have you noticed that "local" news is almost always about NYC? There is a physical reason for that. New Jersey is currently ranked near the bottom of the entire country (50th out of 51) for local reporting capacity. We have only about 5 journalists for every 100,000 residents.
We live in a "news desert." Because we are stuck between the New York and Philly media markets, our local corruption, agency misconduct, and community suffering are ignored in favor of celebrity distractions.
The Distraction vs. Our Reality:
While the news obsesses over the 3.5 million pages of Epstein files or the latest Diddy scandal, they are ignoring the "everyday terrorists" in our own backyard agencies.
• The Funding of Our Own Trauma: We pay taxes to fund the very systems that cause us crisis, trauma, and suffering—suffering that eventually results in death for our community members.
• The Language Barrier: America seems to have an issue with every language except English. Many of us are forced to learn a language that isn’t our native tongue just to navigate our own lives, creating a barrier that silences us.
• The "Charity" Illusion: We are tired of thanking celebrities for "charities" that don't show the real faces of the missing or the needy. We’ve seen the rich and famous buy back their "tapes" and move out of the country while the rest of us are left to deal with the consequences of their systems.
The Solution: Don’t Re-Elect. Replace.
We need to stop re-electing the people who have overseen this misconduct in Monmouth and Essex Counties. They don’t deserve another term.
We need to start having Community Meet and Greets to get our own people into office—people who actually live our lives and still have to look at prices when they go to the store. We need leaders who speak our languages and understand our struggles.
What is anyone going to do? We are going to stop paying for our own destruction. We are going to stop being distracted by the "famous" while our neighbors are suffering.
