We demand that the UK Government, OFSI, HMRC, and FCDO immediately investigate UK citizen Bushra Shaikh for potential breaches of the Iran (Sanctions) Regulations 2023 and the Foreign Influence Registration Scheme (FIRS).

In April 2026, during US-Israeli strikes on Iran, Shaikh joined an Iranian government media tour. She produced interviews, reports, and a full documentary for Iranian state broadcaster Press TV, visited strike sites and the Strait of Hormuz, and repeatedly amplified the Iranian regime’s narrative to UK audiences.

UK sanctions law prohibits British nationals from receiving economic benefits or providing services to designated Iranian state entities. Iran routinely offers free travel, accommodation, and production support to sympathetic influencers. Shaikh has made no public disclosure of any payments or benefits received.

This is not about free speech. It is about enforcing UK sanctions and stopping undisclosed foreign influence operations.

We call for a full probe into her finances, travel records, contracts, and communications. If breaches are found, full enforcement action must follow.
