Poss sustained a severe, infected wound that required surgery and ongoing treatment. Veterinary advice indicated the injury had likely been present for several days before being identified, increasing the risk of serious complications such as deep infection, tissue damage, or potential limb loss if left untreated.
It has now been over 5 weeks since the incident, and Poss is still undergoing treatment and monitoring.
Since sharing our experience publicly, more than 30 individuals have come forward to us directly, including past customers and former workers, sharing similar concerns or experiences relating to care, supervision, or communication.
These reports consistently raise concerns around delayed injury detection, lack of proper monitoring, and poor communication with pet owners.
The matter was reported to the local council, however it took approximately 3 weeks for an inspection to occur. By that time, the facility had already advised that changes were being made to their yards.
Despite the seriousness of the injury and the concerns raised, the investigation concluded with no breach found and no further action taken.
