Staff parking safety: Intu Merry Hill

Staff parking safety: Intu Merry Hill

The Issue

Recently, Intu has made the decision that staff can no longer park on the ‘customer’ car parks. This means that staff now will have to walk nearly 1 mile to the staff car park.

This not only is impractical and unfair on the workforce but also poses a safety risk. This is further highlighted by the fact that there was a recent stabbing on the very same road as the proposed carpark. This is totally unsafe for workers to walk alone. Especially those finishing late at night.

Intu should offer either onsite parking allocation especially during weekdays and evenings. The offsite carpark should then be used for busier periods such as the festive period providing there is security and or transport provided to and from the carpark.
