A little update on my personal experience - thank you all for the support

Hi all, just wanted to give you a little update in light of what’s come out from the school this week.

The Cosmic menu for tomorrow, Thursday, was originally going to include a halal chicken nugget option, which the feedback on was fantastic. However, the school have now retracted that option.

I’ve obviously got involved and signed the petition, even though I’m not Muslim myself. I have a very close school-mum friend whose son and daughter were absolutely over the moon that they were going to be able to have chicken nuggets at school. I actually picked them up from school yesterday, and the first thing her little girl said to me was, “Louise, I’m having chicken nuggets at school!” I honestly didn’t have the heart to tell her that the halal option had been removed.

So, more than ever, guys, if we can get this petition pushed forward, it would really help me to have some evidence and backing to show the school that this is something parents and children genuinely want and need.

I also wanted to share something a school mum said to me yesterday that has really stuck with me. She said, “It’s like breastfed babies and bottle-fed babies. Fed is fed.”

I just thought that was such a lovely way of putting it. At the end of the day, surely the most important thing is that every child has the opportunity to have a meal they can actually eat and enjoy at school.

So please, if you haven’t already, sign the petition and share it where you can. Every bit of support really does make a difference. ❤️
