LETTER FROM MP ISLE OF WIGHT WEST

Thank you for your email and for kindly sharing the outcomes of your petition which will once again help put forward yet another key piece of evidence as to how strongly the issue of cross-Solent transport is felt on the island. 

The cross-Solent transport group (CSTG) is yet to have his first meeting. Although we are hopeful that this will take place in summer. Until then it is important that the independent chair to define the groups objectives and scope. However with the ferry companies opening their books for the first time since 2009 and the Department for Transport also independently analysing the level of service and pricing I am truly hopeful that the group will begin to see a complete picture of the situation as well as identify potential solutions. 

Thank you again for all your work to compile this petition it is so important that islanders continue to place appropriate pressure to ensure that this group finally delivers the deal islanders deserve. But as you mention it is now imperative that myself and Joe take forward this information and the mandate we were elected on to fix this issue.
