Jackelin Salmeron started this petition to International Whalling Commision

Thousands of dolphins and whales are being killed every year in many different countries. I am petitioning to stop the slaughter of whales and dolphins. Dolphins and whales are innocent creatures that have the right to live as much as we do, but because of Japan, Norway and Iceland they are not living their life to the average expectancy, according to the article, “Dolphin and Whales Project”.As stated in the article, “Japan, Iceland and Norway kill more than 1,000 minke, fin and other great whales” each year.

This needs to stop because no animal should be treated the way that these dolphins and whales are being treated. Every year thousands of dolphins are being killed and nobody is doing anything about it, so we need to form part of this change. In the article “ The Truth About Whaling” by Audrey Lee it states that, “In 2006, Iceland resumed commercial whaling, targeting minke and fin whales, and, in 2010 alone, Iceland killed 148 endangered fin whales and 60 minke whales in the North Atlantic”.Dolphins and whales are being killed for their meat and sold to markets as food. They are also being used for shark bait. Up to this day, whales and dolphins are continuing to get captured in Russia, Cuba and Japan. These animals get captured and export to seaquariums. Whales and dolphins are not meant to be in captivity because that is not a good environment for them; those animals are used to being in an open environment where they can explore their surroundings. Japan is planning more illegal whaling in Antarctica. Whaling needs to be stopped now. If we don't take action this injustice will continue to happen.

This will cause a big impact in our environment because each time more and more whale sand dolphins are being kill. The whales and dolphins in the long run will go extinct if we don't stop it now.
