CNN has carried out a detailed investigation into the Lekki shootings by the Nigerian Army on 20 October 2020. The investigation includes interviews with eyewitnesses and victims, as well as video analysis of the incident and examination of the bullet shells recovered from the scene which point to the conclusion that live bullets were fired at the protesters. CNN tried to share the findings with the Nigerian Army and obtain their comments, but received no response.

PS. The Petition has now been submitted to the ICC and it has been formally acknowledged. The court is currently giving consideration to opening a preliminary investigation and l will post an update as soon as I receive their decision on the issue. Please be patient.
