The quarter final match that took place on Thursday March 19, 2015 between Bangladesh and India was unfair, unjust and an absolute violation of moral, ethical grounds of the sport. Furthermore, biased umpiring by Ian Gould demoralized the Bangladeshi team and allowed for Rohit Sharma to continue to keep scoring in the match although he was clearly out (ball: Rubel Hassan). The ball was declared a no-ball, even though that was clearly no the case and this error, pre-planned or not, in the judgement of the umpires led to another 50 scores by Sharma. Moreover, the best batsman in the Bangladeshi team Mohammad Mahmudullah was declared "out" even though Shikhar Dhawan's foot had touched and finally crossed the boundary. 

This match was clearly biased, unfair and partial. It is deplorable that ICC, especially for a World Cup game that decides the teams for semi-finals could allow for such partiality and injustice to continue and to actually support the victory of India that happened as a result of these biased decisions. This petition is a call to ICC to either declare a rematch between Bangladesh and India. It is important to note that this petition is not about Bangladesh's defeat but the defeat of ICC's moral and ethical grounds. Losing is not the issue but to be pushed to lose due to unfair judgments by the two umpires. Not only do the Bangladeshi team deserve an apology but a rematch must happen otherwise ICC will not only lose its credibility but the winning trophy, could potentially be handed to winners that were undeserving. Any sport should be played with dignity, honesty and fairness and clearly, this has not been a case. ICC and the two umpires have insulted the sport, insulted the capabilities of both the teams and most importantly, insulted an entire nation of people.
