Re: Request for urgent assistance to address the ongoing crackdown on protesters in Sudan 

Dear Mr. Voule,

On behalf of 40 Global, Regional and National Networks and NGOs and around 153 individuals that have signed the urgent appeal attached, we extend our deepest appreciation for your continued efforts on the promotion and protection of the rights to freedom of peaceful assembly and of association.

Sharing the urgent appeal, we aim to bring the ongoing violations of the rights of the peaceful protesters in Sudan into your attention and we request that

1- You send an Urgent Appeal to the Government of Sudan expressing concern on the excessive use of force, arbitrary arrests and detention cases

2- Request permission from the Sudanese authorities and undertake an in loco visit for further fact-finding and listening from local civil society groups.

We think this would contribute significantly to the civic space situation in Sudan. We stand ready to provide you with additional information in case of interest.
