Update 2: Naji's defense team submits challenge to sentence in Egypt's highest appellate court

Today, Ahmed Naji's defense team submitted a challenge to the Court of Cassation against the two year sentence issued against the novelist via lawyer Yasmin Hosam El Din, (https://www.facebook.com/yasmin.hosameldin.7/posts/10153455203362124). The team also held a press conference summarizing the relevant legal defenses in the case, including the Constitution's prohibition on jail time for publication-related offenses and other misinterpretations of the law made by the court.
