Petition updateInstall cameras in special needs classrooms in Nevada
State of Nevada Department of Education

Mykia MonroeLas Vegas, NV, United States
Aug 14, 2026
A requirement for video surveillance in schools, including special education classrooms, would require statutory changes enacted by the Nevada State Legislature. The Nevada Department of Education does not have the authority to establish such a requirement through regulation or guidance.
The next regular session of the Nevada Legislature begins February 1, 2027. Individuals interested in proposing a statutory change may wish to share the petition and related information with state legislators for their consideration in advance of the legislative session.
Individuals may contact their Nevada State Senator and Assembly representative regarding proposed legislative changes. Information about legislators and legislative districts is available through the Nevada Legislature.
