On Saturday evening, there was yet another crash heading out of Bearsted on the Ashford Road, with a car colliding into a stationary parked car. This location has become notorious for traffic congestion and accidents, some of which have resulted in fatalities due to speeding cars. It's no longer a matter to be taken lightly, and urgent action is imperative.

Following the recent traffic committee meeting held by the Bearsted Parish Council on April 9th, there is a strong push for the installation of average speed cameras, which appears to be the most logical solution. Detailed notes from the meeting can be accessed through this link: [link to meeting minutes].

I have made a request for the complete dataset of recorded speeds, as I am certain that the results will be alarming, considering the 30 MPH speed limit in place.

Kent County Council has informed us that if we manage to gather 1000 signatures and close this petition, it will prompt further discussion within the council.

I urge you to share this message and encourage others who share our concerns about speeding in the village to do the same.

Thank you once again for your support, and let's hope for a swift and positive resolution.
