Update — June 2026: 30 signatures and counting — thank you
Thirty people have taken the time to sign this petition, every single one of you are signing up to make a difference. Whether you live on the L‑2212, travel it regularly, or simply care about road safety in Galway — thank you.
We're pushing towards 50 signatures, and I believe we can get there with your help.
For anyone just joining: this petition calls on Galway County Council to install additional repeater speed limit signs on the L‑2212 between Milltown and Dunmore — a stretch of road with limited visibility, multiple junctions, and drivers transitioning from faster Regional and National roads without adequate warning. It is a straightforward fix for a real danger that has been shared with the council
Alongside this petition, a formal FOI request has been submitted to Galway County Council seeking records related to their handling of road safety concerns on this route. We are expecting a response in the coming weeks.
If you'd like to keep helping:
✅ Share the petition with neighbours, friends, and anyone who uses this road
✅ Tag Councillors Ollie Turner, Peter Killilea, Siobhan McHugh Ryan, and Minister Seán Canney on social media
✅ Keep the pressure on — politely, persistently
This community has shown it cares. Let's show the council the same.
Thank you again — every signature counts.
