Congratulations to our local community for backing such an important campaign. The volume and sentiment of the comments is palpable, and testament to the concern and conviction from our local community that something must be done.

The petition will continue to run through the coming week so please do encourage your friends, family and colleagues to pledge their support if they haven't already done so.

We cannot bring back the life of our dear community member, but we can commit to taking action in their honour. We must also fight for the best possible outcome from the outset.

Our electorate for 2023 averages around 35,000. If we can reach at least 3500 signatures, then that is representative of 10% of the voting populace and is a powerful number.
