Ban the use of Glyphosate (Roundup) in Sydney Inner West's parks and playgrounds.

The Inner West Council uses a dangerous poison called glyphosate (commonly known as Roundup) as a weed killer in our parks, playgrounds and sportsgrounds.
Sadly, just last year Labor and Liberal councillors voted together against a ban on Roundup proposed by Greens councillors. Join us in urging the Inner West Council to use only non-toxic weed removal methods (such as steaming).
WHY ARE WE CALLING FOR A BAN?
The World Health Organisation recently declared glyphosate as a 'probable carcinogen' - meaning it probably causes cancer.
Long term exposure to glyphosate weedkillers is associated not only with cancer, but also infertility, birth defects, nervous system damage, hormonal disruption, immune reactions, kidney disease, autism, and other health problems.
Glyphosate weedkillers can also be harmful to wild animals, plants, trees and pets.
Last month, California listed glyphosate on the state's list of chemicals known to cause cancer. The Australian Pesticide Authority is investigating the dangers of glyphosate use in schools and playgrounds.
