In a statement from May 26, Dr. Califf (the head of the FDA) said “we need to do something about Cronobacter because it’s a well know contaminant of infant formula. It is not a reportable organism.”

We couldn't agree more!

STOP Foodborne Illness has been calling on FDA, CDC, and the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists to put Cronobacter on the Nationally Reportable Disease List.

Though we've sent letters to each of these agencies twice, we've yet to get any confirmation that they've even received our letters.
