I’m very happy to share that Cesar “Cesinha” Chaves has officially been inducted into the Skateboarding Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2026.
This is a historic and deeply meaningful moment. Cesinha’s contributions to skateboarding—especially his role in shaping and advancing Brazilian skate culture—are now being recognized at the highest level. He is also the first Brazilian national to be inducted, which makes this achievement even more significant.
I want to sincerely thank everyone who signed, shared, commented, and supported this petition. Your voices mattered. This campaign helped keep Cesinha’s legacy visible and part of the conversation, and it showed how strongly the skateboarding community believes in honoring its true pioneers.
I also want to thank the Skateboarding Hall of Fame for listening, for engaging openly, and for recognizing Cesinha’s impact on skateboarding history—both inside and outside the United States. This induction reflects a broader and more inclusive understanding of skateboarding’s global roots.
This victory belongs to all of us who believe skateboarding history should be told fully and fairly.
Thank you all for being part of this.
