The petition seeks to generate awareness about the casual disregard for serious academic misdemeanours like plagiarism in the corridors of power of the University of Delhi and the indirect encouragement to such offences by not giving due consideration to them during appointments and extensions of tenure.

Plagiarism is not only an academic but a legal offence,dealt with utmost seriousness in academic institutions all over the world.However, for University of Delhi, the premier institute of Higher Learning, plagiarism is of least concern.

A complaint of PLAGIARISM was filed against the Principal of Dyal Singh College(E), University of Delhi.The Governing Body of the college, supreme authority in matters relating to appointments, Complaints and Governance of College constituted a three member fact finding committee to look into this matter.The Committee found the Principal guilty of 84 Percent Plagiarism, submitted the report to Governing Body which unanimously accepted the report in its meeting held on 22nd July, 2020.The Governing Body passed a resolution to repatriate the afore mentioned principal to his parent college after completion of his 5 year term as Principal of Dyal Singh Evening College.

Contrary to the decision, rather overruling the GB, the University in an unprecedented and shocking move granted one month extension through an unsigned letter.

Please sign this petition to set a right precedent of not providing protective shield to people of dubious academic integrity.
