This law will help individuals facing infertility get the same right to have a family without the full financial burden forced on them.  I have started this petition to bring it to the attention of the Indiana State Legislature in hopes of having a law mandating Insurance policies cover Infertility Treatment expenses that will give everyone a chance to have a family without having the added financial stress that infertility can cause. I, myself am going through this stressful situation of trying to have a family due to unforeseen inability to conceive.Without being weighed down by the huge cost of fertility treatment. As of a study done by the National Survey of Family Growth in 2002 there were 7.3 million people of child bearing age in the U.S. that are affected by infertility, that is about 1 in 8 couples. As you can imagine this number has more than likely doubled in the last 12 years. An average cost of Treatment is around $25,000 and that is not a one time charge. Each time a treatment fails you have to go through it all again. One couple may end up spending $100,000 just for the chance to have a family.  I want every married couple in Indiana to have the chance to have a family if they so choose.
