My fellow people against addiction: we are doing great! We are almost to 2k supporters but we still need more support. Indiana has a population of almost 7million people. Keep up the good work. I made this petition because I lost my very close friend and the biological mother of my children to her addiction. She had made the decision for us to adopt them and her and I became very close. We had a special bond. Only the kind of bond that two mommies to the same children could have. She trusted me with their lives. I just wish I could have saved hers. This needs to be signed into law. We need to stop ignoring those with mental illnesses and addiction. Jail is not rehab. We need to do better for our young people who never think it will be them and feel invincible. They can’t always make the right decisions for themselves. I know that rehab is more effective when it’s wanted. But, if it could save just a few lives it’s worth it! Keep sharing and promoting and they won’t be able to ignore us. Sending all my love and hugs to all of you who have been impacted by addiction in some way. I know this loss has been very hard for me. The hardest loss of my life. So I empathize with all of you who have lost someone to mental illness and addiction.
