Friends, I appreciate the suggestions for media contacts in the comments to the last update. I am trying some of those, and I hope you will too. After thinking about what to do for several days after the election, I think the media will find us if we help to make the news. Contacting the press has maintained this effort, and I am grateful for all the coverage and attention there has been to Keith Cooper's situation. However, Governor Pence is not likely to spend much time in Indiana over the next two months. We do have the pledge from Governor-elect Holcomb to pardon Cooper, though, in my opinion, every day without a pardon is an extension of the injustice which has been done to him. The Washington Post has already done a good story on Cooper's situation, and in some ways, there is no new news for them to report on it. But we haven't spent as much time pursuing the attention of Washington politicians. And as Mike Pence is leading the transition team for the upcoming Trump administration, I think we can get some of them to question him about Cooper's pardon. I think Keith Cooper's situation will attract the interest of the Congressional Black Caucus. If you are represented by a member of the Congressional Black Caucus (Indianapolis is represented by Andre Carson), please contact your members directly, informing them of Cooper's situation and asking them to call upon Pence to complete his pardon. You may include a link to this petition or to any news reports to help them understand this case. Here is a link to the entire membership of the Congressional Black Caucus: https://cbc-butterfield.house.gov/members. You may check there to see if your representative is a member. If you are not represented by a member of the caucus, you may contact them by this email link: https://cbc-butterfield.house.gov/contact-us/email-us. I would suggest contacting both your representative, if you have a member in the caucus, and the caucus as a whole. Thank you for your help with this effort. This may give us some momentum.
