Hello everyone! Tonight will forever be remembered as one of the most vital meetings in the history of the Dallas Independent School District. Beginning at 3 pm, trustees will gather to decide the fate of Superintendent Mike Miles. Truthfully, this is what we have all been waiting for. We've gathered countless times to voice our complaints and waited for the Trustees to do something about our inadequate leader. Tonight will be the true test to see if the people we voted to represent us truly hold our best interests at heart, rather than their malicious agendas. In her email to the Board Members, Georgia Andree said, “You have the ability to choose what your legacy of service as an esteemed DISD board council member will be remembered by. It is up to you whether you want to be forever linked to the enormous mistake that was made by voting in an inadequately experienced Superintendent, or be known as one of the trailblazers brave enough to right a terrible wrong.” Although time is running out until the meeting this afternoon, you can still have your voice heard one last time. Email the Trustees, let them know that you will NOT stand for the mistreatment of our teachers and students. At the end of this update, I will provide all of the Trustee’s emails. As the students, parents, and teachers of DISD, we have the obligation to speak our mind when we witness an injustice. Also, if you have the ability to attend the meeting today beginning at 3 pm, it will be held at 3700 Ross Avenue, Dallas, TX 75204. I encourage you to go if you can. Every single person will make a difference. On a final note, I just want to thank everyone who has stood by me during this battle. Our voices, along with other courageous teachers, students, and parents, have finally been heard. I cannot be more thankful for each and every one of you. The time is finally here. The decision is no longer in our hands, and it has instead been given to our board members. All that’s left to do is hope the people we've voted to protect and represent us do just that: save the district and everyone involved more heartache. Thank you again.
