Mr. Lewis responded to me this afternoon (interestingly he has also added 5 other Newark City Schools officials to our email thread, which I hope will increase attention to this matter) essentially stating that the Newark police sergeant I spoke with this morning is incorrect regarding the amount Newark City Schools must pay for two resource officers. According to NPD, Mr. Lewis is not giving me the correct number. Because of this CONFLICTING information, I have chosen to forward all of the details I have to key officials in the state of Ohio who may be able to assist (including the Department of Education, Mike DeWine, Troy Balderson, Thaddeus Claggett, Tim Schaefer, the Ohio School Safety Center, and even JD Vance, given his ties to Ohio). My primary goal is to ensure the safety of our children, regardless of budget constraints or conflicting information between parties. I just would like to say as well, Thank God for the right to free speech and the ability to share this information.
