Once we hit 1,000, I’ll hand-deliver this to every office in Licking County that pretends they don’t hear us. Keep signing and sharing (and when you share, actually say what it’s about—people scroll fast). 10TV already covered this, yet I still haven’t heard back from the superintendent, NPD, or the sheriff’s office—despite my emails, calls, and voicemails. A local business even offered free training for officers and civilians. All I’m asking is that NPD/LCSO/the superintendent set up a volunteer sign-up, run background checks, and schedule the training so we can finally get security in our kids’ schools. Or here’s a thought: maybe the district could budget for safety instead of new mascots. Or NPD could reach out to retired officers. Or the district could reinstate the school resource officer contract they themselves killed. Lots of options—right now, just lots of excuses.
