Increase Pharmacy Internship Posts for South African Pharmacy Graduates
The Issue
We, the undersigned pharmacy students, are calling for an increase in the number of pharmacy internship posts available in South Africa.
As pharmacy students work towards completing their degrees and entering the profession, limited internship opportunities can leave eligible graduates without a placement required to progress towards registration as pharmacists.
We are calling on the relevant authorities to:
1. Increase the number of available pharmacy internship posts.
2. Review the current capacity for pharmacy internship placements.
3. Provide greater transparency regarding the availability and allocation of posts.
4. Engage with pharmacy students and relevant stakeholders to address the shortage of internship opportunities.
This petition aims to demonstrate the collective concern of South African pharmacy students and the need for meaningful action to increase internship opportunities.
If you are a WITS BPHARM, please add your signature and help us make our collective voice heard.
This petition is currently limited to this selected group to establish a controlled number of supporting students within the university. Through communication with the other university's pharmacy representatives, petitions should be available at your designated university as pharmacy students, if it has been created. All those numbers will be used as a collective for the same movement.
