On Tuesday 9th December I was invited to present this petition to Oxfordshire County Council and give a short speech advocating for better Mental Health Services in Oxfordshire. Oxfordshire County Councillor Liz Brighouse then brought forward a motion to investigate the Mental Health Services provided by Oxford Health, particularly addressing accessibility to services including prevention, assessment, therapies, medication, inpatient secure and non-secure beds. The motion was passed unanimously, following several moving speeches by County Councillors.
The outcome of the investigation will be sent to the appropriate Secretaries of State.
I will also be giving an interview to BBC news regarding the petition and focusing on increasing capacity within the Mental Health Services in Oxfordshire.
Thank you so much for signing this petition and allowing your voice to be heard - it has made, and will continue to make, a real difference for people with severe mental health needs.
