Hi all,
Electric micromobility regulatory reviews continue at pace around the country. Following the release of the green paper late last year, the Dept of State Growth has provided the following update on the status of Tasmania’s review:
“The public consultation component of the e-bike regulation review has completed. The department is currently working through the submissions before providing Minister Abetz with recommendations for consideration.
“At this stage we are not able to provide an update on the regulatory changes, however, as this work progresses, this consultation site will be updated (https://engage.stategrowth.tas.gov.au/e-bike-regulations). You can follow the page by clicking the “+ Follow” button on the right-hand side so that you will receive a notification as information is added.”
The Transport Minister also provided a letter response to me earlier in 2025 acknowledging the merits of increasing power and speed of e-bikes in a Tasmanian context.
