Hello all!

Thank you for your advocacy to help win paid leave for everyone in the U.S. Thanks to your support, our movement has achieved huge victories – including winning paid leave for more than 8.5 million people at some of the largest employers in the U.S., including Walmart, Starbucks, Target and more.

Paid Leave for the U.S. (PL+US) was founded in 2016 as a time-bound campaign to win federal paid family and medical leave for every working person in the U.S. by 2022. It was a bold and ambitious vision to win transformative change with a campaign-style time horizon and approach.

Thanks to this community and your support, we got incredibly close to achieving our north star: for the first time in history, we advanced comprehensive paid leave through the House of Representatives, pushing federal policy farther than ever before. The private sector wins powered by this community created a tectonic shift that influenced our decision makers in Congress. Together, we created a tipping point, making it a question of not if but when the U.S. will pass paid family and medical leave.

It is with enormous pride for all we accomplished and optimism for the future that PL+US joins forces with other impactful organizations continuing the fight for paid leave.

We’re thrilled to share that our partners at Marshall Plan for Moms will be taking the helm of activating and engaging the paid leave movement on the Change.org platform. You’ll hear from them soon about new opportunities to advocate in service of ensuring that everyone can be there for their families in the moments that matter most.

Thank you for speaking up and signing petitions for paid leave. We hope you’ll continue your advocacy and join Marshall Plan for Moms in the fight to win paid leave, childcare, and support for working families across this country.

Molly Day, Executive Director, Paid Leave for the U.S. (PL+US)
