Hey all! I just wanted to say thank you so much for your support with this petition, it’s very much appreciated. I have forwarded the petition to McDonalds UK and highlighted the need and demand for some gluten free options for a more inclusive menu. They sent the below response so we can but hope the ‘relevant department’ will consider further and maybe one day there will be some progress, as is the case in other European countries! “Thank you for contacting McDonald’s Customer Services regarding gluten free products. We really do appreciate our customer’s feedback because we are keen to make every experience as enjoyable as possible.
We cannot provide a list of gluten free menu items, as we cannot guarantee anything we prepare in the kitchen is actually gluten free. The term ‘Gluten Free’ is a legal claim that assures a product contains <20 parts per million gluten in total. We produce our food in kitchens where allergens are handled by our people, and where equipment and utensils are used for multiple menu items (including those containing allergens). This means we cannot guarantee that what we serve is under the threshold.
Although you can choose or customise a meal that does not contain any gluten containing ingredients, we cannot guarantee that the product will be gluten free. A full list of allergens in our menu items can be found here:
