Becky and I just arrived in San Luis Obispo for the SLOCOG meeting tomorrow at 10:15 am (for our item B-1). Honestly we are disappointed that there remains a myopic focus on the newly approved Traffic Study with no evidence of more being done following our Dec 5th SLOCOG meeting. We do recognize the Board moved forward to select a consultant to get the Traffic Study started immediately - so in that it is partly evident they were listening. But it is unclear from this whether they have even read Caltrans study done in 2009 and can show how this new study is the same and/or different than what Caltrans previously did. So we are struggling to see whether SLOCOG and it’s stakeholders are really doing the right thing here or solely creating a paper trail to justify not doing anything to eliminate the El Campo death trap.
Please join us at the meeting tomorrow to help us ask for clear explanations on why more isn’t being done, faster and why all pre-existing Caltran reports and conclusions are not being used.
Meeting is tomorrow Wednesday January 9, 2019, as a timed item scheduled to begin at approx. 10:15 AM. It is agenda item B-1. 1055 Monterey St. Board Chambers first floor
