Holy cow, I still can't believe this is happening!
Joe M., Joe S., and myself all spoke to a local reporter with the Surprise Independent this past week named Jason Stone. He's written a great article about it available online now. Should be in the printed edition I think sometime this coming week.

The article is great, please give it a read if you can. It is a premium or subscriber only article at this time. Cost to subscribe is $5/month or $55/year. I have asked Jason if there's a way to partner in anyway to ensure the paper still is able to make their money (small business and all that), and am waiting on a reply. In the meantime, please be ethical and don't distribute the article. We need all the help we can get with this cause and burning people who are helping is not the right thing to do.
Outside of that, we're over 1600 signatures. I truly do not have the words to explain how much I appreciate the outpouring support from the community here in Surprise and our surrounding areas neighbors. We cannot let up now. We need to keep sharing, signing if you haven't, and overall keep supporting these efforts.
On a personal note for me, this new week kicks off tomorrow with my birthday. At this point, the greatest gift I can get is to have our signatures reach 2500 by the end of the week. There are also some plans tentatively on the schedule this week to meet with some stakeholders about the traffic. I'll be sure to share updates when we have them!
I'll end this update with a reminder about Surprise D1 Councilman Nick Haney's upcoming meeting at Asante Preparatory Academy on 12/20 at 6pm. Please show up and be present. The traffic issues is going to be discussed and based on what I've been hearing rumblings about within the City of Surprise government, there should be some additional government officials that are stakeholders/would be party to any sort of improvements in the roads for this area.
Keep fighting the good fight, y'all.
All the Best,
Rebekah
