I started paying child support in 2020 it was ok that half year then the following year it all went down hill. For starters they always found a way to say I had to pay arrears which happened every 3 months with no clear reasons why different excuse every time.T his is where it turns real shit is they sent me my new assessment to pay and earning $106 thousand I was to pay $300 per week which I could do. A week later it went up to $489 weekly because my x told them her circumstances had changed hence the big increase. I had to do an estimate of earnings I dropped to $70 k for the year then I got close to that and re estimated it to $84 k. I earned $96 k in the financial year. My assessment for this year was set $510 per week cause in my calendar year they say I earned $113k. Then going over my estimate that bit they sent me a bill for $12 k which is every dollar I went over my estimate. I've had many discussions and many times they have hung up on me. A different reason for the bill every person I talked to. Child support is calculated on my gross earnings minus $26 living allowance. In that gross amount they never take out the $29 k I paid in tax. How can they still include that in the calculation when it's not ever in my earnings. How can anybody live on $26 k a year specially with the living costs inflation and the prices of everything so high. There is no care from ird the being able to afford to live and pay there herendous price figures. I hope this is understandable and if you need any help or support in getting whatever needs to be done to get it to parliament. I've talked to my local mp and well that fell flat as they are labor mp as well.
