Re-imagine Preston Village: Past, Present & Future - Community Design Event-Friday 15th May, 2pm-9pm

Renew Preston VillagePreston Village, Brighton & Hove, United Kingdom
21 Apr 2026

On Friday 15th of May during Brighton's festival month, the Renew Preston Village campaign is throwing open the doors of Knoyle Hall for an afternoon and evening of interactive exhibitions, conversation and creativity — and we'd love you to be part of it.

Wander in any time between 2pm and 9pm. Pick the kids up from school and bring them along. Pop in after work for a glass of wine. Stay five minutes or stay all evening.

What's on:

  • Historic images of the village from the Regency Society — Preston Village before the A23 split it in two in 1935

  • Design proposals for a calmer, greener, more walkable A23

  • Hands-on activities to imagine a future for the Vicarage Bowls Lanes (the green space opposite Sainsbury's)

  • Aerial photography and film of the village by local drone pilot Morgan Robertson

  • A sneak peak at a new illustrated map of Preston Park and Preston Village by local artist Kay Train

  • Activities for younger children — encouraging them to dream up the place they want to grow up in

  • Refreshments from Alfie & Co Luxury Hairdressing and Charters Estate Agents

This is a conversation about the future of our village. A chance to imagine how rain gardens, street trees, safer crossings and reinvigorated green spaces could turn Preston Village into the thriving, healthier, more beautiful place it deserves to be.

Bring your stories. Bring your ideas. Bring your neighbours.

Friday 15 May | 2pm – 9pm | Knoyle Hall, Knoyle Road, Preston Village. No ticket required — just turn up.

Reserve a free place on Eventbrite if you'd like. prestonvillage.org
