Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for signing the petition for a safer Bramhope Old Lane and Chevin! Your support is making a difference.

Here's a quick update on actions taken and the response from Leeds City Council so far:

We've been actively engaging with the Vision Zero team, our local MP, and councillors, highlighting the dangerous speeding and tragic incidents, including the recent injury to a horse rider. We're now also regularly reporting dangerous driving via Operation Snap, and action cameras are being used to capture evidence. Please report any dangerous driving you see via Op SNAP

If horse riding you can also report here: Horse Incidents

Unfortunately, Leeds City Council's initial response has been disappointing. They maintain that traffic calming isn't feasible without street lighting and prioritise roads with more recorded serious injuries or fatalities. We believe this goes against their own Vision Zero goal of preventing harm before it happens!

What's next? A group of concerned Chevin users will be attending the local Parish Council meeting this Wednesday evening to read a statement and appeal for their support. Your signatures are helping us show the strength of community concern!

Please share this update and keep spreading the word about our petition. Every voice counts!

Thank you!
