Thank you for your very thoughtful response...
I have reviewed your comments and would like to comment further. I am however away for the next week and will respond in a more detailed insightful way as although I have read in your email what the NDP plans are, I am still of the opinion that it isn't MORE MONEY we need to spend that will be utilized in the same manner as we sit today.
I'm not sure if you have seen that the BC RCMP are requesting people to sign a petition to CHANGE THE PROCESS. Yes we do need more officers due to the changing patterns of BC residents along with high immigration numbers, however currently, the existing personnel we have are ineffective due to process. link here: https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=834365335494332&set=a.192134426384096
We clearly have to build more locations for imprisonment and mental health facilities (yes I am speaking about involuntary confinement) in order to reduce the VOLUME of criminals who get released, uncharged, and KNOWN TO POLICE (I hate that term but relevant to our ongoing revolving catch & release program) I am using that term solely because it is wide-spread confirmation on how inefficient our justice system is. Build them in more rural communities who can also incorporate those that service these facilities and who will contribute largely to the economics of the region.
I have attached some pics of crime riddled houses near my HOME (seconds from downtown Chilliwack) which did not exist when I moved here with my senior mom. There are many more locations currently housing crack heads/criminals and others (owned by landlords who do not live in our community). Another HOUSING issue solved by making the landlords responsible. Again, I am out of town so am providing the short version of a very complex (according to politicians) problem that can no longer be ignored.
I will be continuing my endeavors (and I have included our local MLA's in this missive as well) to change the way our government operates AND to make our streets safer so that even YOU can walk down the streets of our neighbourhoods.
I look forward to helping US change the way we capture, charge, house criminals so that BC no longer has the pleasure of being the top 6 out of 10 WORST/MOST DANGEROUS cities in Canada.
