Sadly this update is the worst possible news. 

YET ANOTHER horrific accident has occurred today (01/09/23) at Wearden Rd and Forest Way. I sincerely hope that the occupants and witnesses are OK.

As I type this message, I am wiping away tears and shaking with anger. I’m so terrified that someone is going to lose their life here. I can still hear the sirens now. 

This accident is so serious that the Care Flight chopper has been called.
A vehicle has flipped onto the pedestrian path and through the fence at the Ambulance Station (see images)

I did not witness the incident but was alerted by more than 10 local community supporters (who have supported this petition) via messages within minutes of the accident occurring. We could all hear the sirens and the chopper landing. 
I attended the scene to take the photos (attached) for the sole purpose of highlighting again just how dangerous this stretch of road is. 
 
I understand that both Minister Cross and Minister Regan have both raised the issue in parliament, but this is now so serious that we need an immediate fix before someone is killed.

We cannot wait for process and a response from the Roads and Transport Minister. Someone will lose a life here. 
 
This is now the second serious incident in 2 weeks within 100m of each other.

Imaging if a pedestrian had been walking here.
