We have had a good update from Minister Regan’s office!
The petition and emails were presented at the Northern Beaches Transport Committee meeting yesterday (04/07/23). The council are supportive and have recommended to NSW Transport that the section be investigated and an overpass built.
The Wakehurst and Davidson MP offices have also made submissions.
This is great news but in reality a small first step as there will no doubt be many approvals required to make any changes.
We strongly encourage anyone whose family has been impacted by an accident on this stretch of road to write a letter detailing the incident and support the call for change. If there has been three (3) or more incidents on this section, its possible that it will be eligible for "Blackspot Funding" which may make approval of any proposed safety upgrades much more likely.
There are two incidents mentioned in the comments of this petition. If these supporters are able to send further details to both the Davidson and Wakehurst MP offices with details this will be a huge help.
Additionally, if you are aware of other incidents then please provide the details and email the offices.
