We have received the following email response from Dr Sophie Scamps in response to the email I sent yesterday!

Dear Kylie,

Thank you so much for contacting us with your concerns of pedestrian safety, especially those of children on their way to and from school.

I will pass your letter on to Dr Sophie and her policy advisors for their consideration. Sophie is in Canberra just at present for the  Parliamentary sitting period. I will keep you updated upon her return when they have an opportunity to discuss it.
