Even if nothing can be done at this time, we firmly believe that the government needs to consider moms and babies immediately staying together during a global crisis in the future.  During a global crisis is not the time to send one year olds into the world and be separated from their mothers for the first time!

Furthermore, if the government is going to redirect health resources to a pandemic response, that are usually specifically for moms and babies postpartum care, then they must consider giving more time for these resources to be used when they finally get returned.
