Dear Supporters of Breath-Hold Safety,

I wanted to share two exciting updates with you as we continue our mission to advocate for breath-hold safety.

First, a while back, we hosted a live stream intended to debrief after a hypoxic incident. This session was designed to model what a strong safety culture looks like and to engage our entire community in active and conscious safety practices. I am thrilled to share that the session featured Gareth Locke, the founder of The Human Diver: Human Factors in Diving, as our special guest. Gareth walked us through the debrief, providing invaluable insights. Additionally, we had a cameo from my trusted friend and dive medic, Chris Ciccotelli. This live stream is incredibly informative and worth watching. You can check it out here.

Secondly, my partner Rob and I decided to attend our local community board meeting recently. As a grassroots nonprofit, we believe that change begins at the local government level. During the meeting, there was an opportunity for us to speak publicly, so I seized the moment to talk about our petition and the lack of access for divers. To our delight, we connected with someone sympathetic to our cause who provided us with their business card. This connection has already borne fruit, as it led us to our new venue where we will be hosting our first community pool party tomorrow, Friday, May 31st. It's free to attend and I hope to see many of you there! Please RSVP!

This pool party is just the beginning of what we hope will be a long and fruitful relationship with the venue, the Variety Boys & Girls Club of Queens. We plan to host many more community programs to spread awareness of breath-hold safety and contribute positively to our community.

Thank you once again for signing our petition and supporting our cause. Together, we can make a significant impact and promote safer practices in breath-hold diving.

Best regards,

Nicole Zelek
