She suffers from a serious heart condition which recently led to hospitalization. Upon recovery, she yearned to return to school and continue her education among familiar faces — a crucial aspect of her comfort and learning process.

Unfortunately, her path back to education was hindered by inadequate accessibility at our school. Her father requested a room transfer to a closer and more accessible location to minimize her physical strain. Shockingly, this simple and crucial accommodation was denied by the school administration.

This situation highlights a broader issue faced by many students with disabilities. Accessible education is a basic right, yet schools often fall short of providing the necessary accommodations. The consequence? Students like my classmate are forced to contemplate transferring to schools that may not meet their academic needs or leaving the education system altogether.
