https://www.instagram.com/p/CmEGlGHyIEs/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=It's a brutal time to be a beekeeper. Floods and a NSW varroa incursion. But aside from those natural disasters the WORST thing for the Australian honey industry is imported honey - like CLOVERDALE HONEY.
Arki is right the antidote to this scourge on Australian industry is to support your local beekeeper or support an Australian brands.

Hive and Wellness formally known as Capilano ltd own cloverdale honey.
The company also owned Allowrie, and after consumer backlash (following reports of it being imported from China ), they stopped selling the product. A media release by the company stated it was a "first step on the journey to making ALL HONEY PRODUCTS 100% Australian".
OK, Great!
But under the cover of another company, Hive and Wellness (Capilano ltd )have released Cloverdale Honey. Here's the kicker - Cloverdale Honey IS imported honey
Didn't they say that's why they disbanded their Allowrie brand? To stop imported honey??
In a leaked email to beekeepers they said 'due to the bushfires and the high cost of Australian honey we will be importing honey for Cloverdale to encourage people to keep eating honey and not move to other spreads'
What the what?!?! That makes no sense!
You won't convince people to stick with honey, you will convince people to buy a cheaper imported product. How are you going to convince consumers to return to a more expensive pure product if you've just told them the cheap imports are a great alternative.
The antidote is to support your local beekeeper. You can find them on the honeymap.
